How does it work?

Acupuncture works by stimulating various points on the body’s meridians. Meridians are pathways for “QI” (energy flow). Meridians transport qi and blood throughout the body, rendering the body balanced and whole. All organs, sensory receptors and tissues are nourished, energized, and warmed by the qi and blood circulating through the meridians. Acupuncture alters body chemicals, including the production of endorphins.  It also plays a role in the nervous system by causing a beneficial relax response and can have affects the body’s natural electro-magnetic fields.  It improves blood circulation, harmonizes the balance of the whole body, restores and maintains normal function of the meridians, regulates function of the immune system, calms the mind and spirit.  It can also be very effective in soft tissue work, helping to loosen up tight muscles. Acupuncture can be beneficial for pain, cancer, endocrine disorder, gastro, sexual health, neurological disorder, mental health, weight loss, sleeping issues, respiratory system, and skin disease.
